East Staffordshire Borough CouncilServing a population of over 100,000 the East Staffordshire Borough Council Web site is a key communication tool. Like all UK local government bodies ESBC are striving for the highest levels of accessibility, accuracy, e-GMS compliance, usability and browser compatibility. There are now a number of surveys that rank local government sites - prior to Cyber Media's involvement the ESBC site was not highly ranked.
Cyber Media were selected in early 2004 to carry out a co-ordinated series of projects to improve the Web site:
- New Tourism Site and visitors database
- New Inward Investment Site and commercial property database
- Accessibility overhaul
- Improved content authoring tools
- Hosting relocation
- Improved searching
- Complete design makeover
- On-line display of local plan maps
By December 2004 the appearance, accessibility and usability of the Web site were transformed. The site now regularly ranks in the top 5% of UK Local Government sites.
