Intuitive web application empowering citizens and social prescribers to build personalised activity plans
Kent Sport required an app integrating with its Everyday Active website to support GPs, social prescribers and individuals bookmark activities of interest and build them into weekly plans.
Our approach to such developments is to be mindful of the need to make the application as easy to interact with as possible, particularly for older citizens who may not be confident online.
We were also aware that, for others, ‘app fatigue’ can be a barrier to engagement as citizens become frustrated with having to install additional applications on their devices and register their details.
Based on these considerations we worked in close collaboration with Kent Sport to plan a seamlessly integrated web app that enables citizens to interact with basic features free of any barriers that might frustrate the user - such as mandatory account registration.
Citizens exploring the Everyday Active website can now bookmark articles and activities that are of interest to them to a ‘My Everyday’ area for ease of future reference. The feature can also be used by social prescribers who can save frequently used resources for quick access when engaging with their clients.
My Everyday also enables individuals to efficiently share articles with their friends and family via social channels such as Facebook.
By registering a My Everyday account citizens can opt-in to notifications when new articles are published by the Kent Sport team that match their interests.
Account registration also enables citizens to create a weekly plan based on their bookmarked activities.
We took care to make the planner tool as easy to use as possible and it can be rapidly populated within minutes and shared via email.
The new My Everyday web app is an intuitive and effective planning tool, enabling citizens and social prescribers to build personalised activity plans quickly and easily.
