Software Engineer

Cyber Media seek talented software engineers/developers to join our team.

You will already have several years’ experience in this role.

The Company

Cyber Media are specialists in digital engagement for health and wellbeing, providing products and solutions to councils, the NHS and charities. The projects we deliver enable individuals to improve their health, wellbeing and socio-economic outlook. Our development methodology is based on Agile principles, and we work in small and flexible teams.

The Role

You will be joining our agile development team to develop new features for our products and support currently deployed solutions built with a wide-range of technologies.

Essential Skills / Experience

  • Several years’ experience of software engineering for web projects, with a strong competency in some of these technologies: Java, Spring Boot, Thymeleaf, ColdFusion, PHP, Doctrine, Zend Framework / Laminas, JavaScript, JQuery, MSSQL, MySQL
  • Demonstrable ability to work with and switch between multiple languages
  • Experience developing and consuming APIs (RESTful and SOAP)
  • Strong understanding of information security and governance issues relating to application development
  • Experience working in an agile environment (preferably Scrum)

Desirable Skills / Experience

  • Familiarity with developing software using a Microservices architecture
  • Docker and container technologies
  • Familiarity with Healthcare Interoperability e.g. FHIR, HL7, INTEROPen
  • Test Driven Development
  • Build Pipelines and CI/CD automation

Remote Working

We work from our office location in Stafford as well as remotely on a flexible basis. You will be required to work from the office for part of the week (e.g. for face-to-face meetings and in-person collaboration with colleagues) and will be able to work remotely at other times if you wish.


Salary to £50,000 (depending on experience), 22 days annual leave + Bank Holidays, holiday buy and sell scheme, pension (company contribution 5%).
