Visionary’s HQ is in the Pocklington Hub, Queen Square London, however the organisation supports sight support organisations nationwide. In fact, Visionary supports over 100 local member organisations and 20 national partners.
The organisation has a clear goal:
“A world in which people living with sight loss can access what they need at local level where and when they need it.”
And to this end Visionary connects sight support organisations, helping them develop their skills, access information and share best practice.
Visionary needed an eye-catching and easy to manage website to effectively engage with its membership and set out its offer.
We won the competitive process to work with the organisation to design, develop and host the new website.
We kicked the project off by collaborating with the Visionary Team to identify priorities and iterate a bold and inspiring design concept.
A key area of expertise we were able to bring to the table was the creation of a colourful design concept that also delivers an exceptional level of accessibility. We have previously worked on numerous projects where compliance with the Public Sector Accessibility Regulations (PSBAR 2018) has been essential and this experience proved a real asset to the project, enabling us to incorporate the colourful assets of the Visionary brand without compromise to accessibility.
The new Homepage is enhanced with bespoke iconography and clear calls to action featuring accent colours to match the organisation’s brand.
The Homepage also has dynamic elements that promote upcoming events and the latest news, as well as integration of the RNIB’s Sightline Directory search, which enables visitors to find their local sight loss service.
We developed an events section of the website with clean and intuitive presentation and a handy filter that enables Visionary’s membership to filter its busy calendar by a theme, such as regional meetings, governance and fundraising.
And a smart ’Meet the Team’ listing and profile template was developed to enable Visionary to publish engaging staff profile images and biographies.
In addition, the new website has a vacancies section that enables job and volunteering opportunities to be published on behalf of its member base, complete with organisational logos and location tagging.
Visionary now has a bold, engaging and colourful website to support its vital work helping sight loss charities develop, thrive and support people with visual impairments.
Crucially the new website has been built using the open-source and easy to use WordPress Content Management System which enables Visionary to easily update content, publish new resources and promote upcoming support events.
We really enjoyed working with the Visionary team on the project and look forward to supporting the organisation going forward.
